Atlanta Based Work
I have called Atlanta home since 2001 and have a well-respected reputation within the business community boasting a breadth of experience in project management, communication, marketing, business development, and event planning. I have built and implemented multiple programs to assist small business owners in the metro area. The Georgia Power Supplier Diversity Mentee Program and the Commerce Club Presents; The 4 Disciplines Of Business were two of my most comprehensive and impactful programs and are explained further below.
Some of my fondest professional memories come from my time in Hospitality and Event Planning. I have a personal love for politics and have had the honor of coordinating the needs of local and national politicians, heads of state, foreign dignitaries, and other special guests. My most memorable experiences in hospitality include events with former First Lady Michelle Obama and Sen. John McCain at the prestigious Commerce Club in downtown Atlanta.
In 2019 I left the corporate world and accepted the role of Director of Communication for Dayo Women, a luxury loungewear brand. Working for founder Yolanda White has been the highlight of my professional career. Dayo has allowed me more creative expression than any other position I have previously enjoyed. I am an enthusiastic storyteller and eagerly accepted the opportunity to expand the traditional definition of my role into digital mediums. Currently, I am back in the corporate arena, however, I still collaborate with Yolanda White on media storyboards for online adverts, social media content, and have contributed to the self-love blog with my personal stories of discovery. I continue to consult on passion-based projects on a case-by-case basis.
I was born in Jordan, raised in Cyprus, and am currently living in Atlanta, Ga, USA. I grew up a TCK (Third Culture Kid) and have lived in 5 different countries, traveled to over 45 and visited 100+ different cities throughout the Americas, Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. As an adult, I continue to be influenced by the places I have lived and loved. My friends call me ‘Susan From Cyprus’, a nod to my Instagram handle and favorite subject.
